We want to help you be the best version of you

The Story

In 2016 I lost my brother Jack at the age of 23 to a brain tumour. The trauma that followed caused me to suffer with various mental health issues, including depression and anxiety. As a result of not speaking up, I suffered with my relationships, professional life and confidence. After hitting rock bottom I decided to begin the road to recovery, one small BreakthrU at a time. Now, a few years on, although I still have the scars, I’m at my happiest when I can help someone navigate to discover/ re-discover the best version of themselves. Did I ever plan to become a life coach? No way! back in 2016 I didn’t know what one was and I still do not consider myself a life coach in the traditional sense. I’m just hoping to offer something that I couldn’t find when I needed it, help from a relatable person. I have gathered together the methods that worked for me and now want to share them with you. These are my wins, my methods, my Breakthru’s.

The Person

I am a very proud dad to three fantastic children and also very grateful to have a supportive partner and family behind me. I pride myself on being the best Dad, partner and friend I can be, In my eyes this takes precedent over any financial or material achievement. In my spare time I am also involved in another form of coaching, football coaching for my son’s team. I am a huge football fan and it is a big passion of mine, well at least when the results are going well! Exercise is also a huge part of my life. I have always attended the gym and played sport but have recently taken up walking as well. I am a big advocate for the benefits of physical activity on our mental wellbeing. My coaching style is a little different to others, I try to avoid waffle, gimmicks and fluffing things up. I prefer to speak to clients the way I would like to be spoken to. I consider myself a “normal everyday bloke” and so my approach is honest, from the heart and hopefully relatable.

The Career

After training to be a personal trainer at college I worked in the health & fitness sales industry for five years. Following this I moved into the property industry and have been an office manager for the last seven years. For anyone who may be finding it difficult to manage the stresses and pressure of working in sales driven environments, I understand. My proudest achievement was succesfully completing my advanced diploma in life coaching level 5. A combination of the knowledge I have gained from this, along with the personal life experiences I have had have led to BreakthrU coaching becoming a service that I am proud to offer to you.
